her father's house

the light is extinguished in a darkened room
waiting alone she cries herself to sleep
never knowing what she can do
help the poor child don't let her weep

in a lost age she goes unheard
betrayel so deep painful to believe
in her father's house she was lured
now through pain and loss she must grieve

so she waits for an answer
to the pain she feels
and she waits for someone
to make it right
she waits for an answer
to why oh why
and now she sleeps in a darkened room
hoping to sleep 'til morning light
but despite her hope he brings her doom
she doesn't know how she can fight

so she waits for the end
of her betrayal
and she waits to sleep
and try to forget
she waits for an answer
to why oh why

she grew up not knowing who she was
pain wracked her soul night and day
lost from the world she was lost because
her father had stolen her trust away
